The Space In Between

A Multimedia Series

With an increasingly globalized society where cultures continuously intermingle, and often times clash, more and more people find themselves in grey areas where they simply cannot identify with a singular culture. Thus, the identity crisis.

This is a passion project I started because I am one of these people. I’m tired of seeing me and people like me…

  • Stigmatized as being people who are ungrateful of their roots.

  • Judged for being different.

  • Perceived as a disappointment.

  • Being forced by society to fit into a box we never existed within.

The goal is to create a platform that tells the stories of people who live in the space in between cultures. Meaning the TCKs (Third Culture Kids), the first generation citizens, the international students, the mixed-raced/ethnicity, and those who just don’t fit your cultural expectations.

Let us tell you the truth about who we are before you put your words in our mouths.

Currently curating the first story of the series: an audio story examining the Vietnamese-American identity and the way in which language plays a prominent role in how we are perceived.

Tentative release date: January 2020
